Participants must be greater than 41kg (90 lbs), know how to swim, and be in good physical condition. Rafting Eau Vive has an excellent safety record. However, participants must be conscious of the inherent risks and dangers the sport of white water rafting provides such as, but not limited to: slippery rocks, sudden changes in river levels, the weather water temperature, increased physical distance to urban medical services, etc. This is why Rafting Eau Vive declines all responsibility for personal loss or injuries.
Every participant is required to sign a waiver of liability prior to going on their rafting trip. In addition, participants are required to inform their guide, or Rafting Eau Vive staff of any pre-existing medical condition or use of prescribed medicines.
Safety procedures are explained to participants in detail before and during a rafting trip and t is every participant's responsibility to adhere to these procedures.
Rafting Eau Vive Strictly prohibits and enforces the following:
- The use of alcohol or illegal drugs before a rafting trip or while on the river.
- Harmful conduct or interference of any kind with the safety of the trip or other individuals.
Rafting Eau Vive reserves the right to remove any individual from a rafting trip, with no refund, if these policies are not followed.
Running rafting trips on the Rouge River requires a great deal of planning and logistics in order to effectively maintain quality service to our guests. Any groups or individuals arriving excessively late for their confirmed trip time will not participate and are not eligible for a refund.
Rafting Eau Vive mandates that all of our professional guides are certified in First Aid, CPR, and Swift Water Rescue prior to guiding any guests down the river. Many Rafting Eau Vive guides have received additional first aid training in one or more of the following: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and Wilderness First Aid.
